Bundle Up and Enjoy a Day at the Market

Did you know that Cowtown Farmers Market remains open in winter too? We happily brave the single-digit temperatures to continue serving our valued shoppers. Intrepid vendors dress warmly and bring their wares for you to peruse, just like any other time of year.

While the produce selection is somewhat smaller than other seasons, you may still find root vegetables and other items grown locally. So, bundle up and enjoy a day at the market!

Come Tuesday and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm!

Since we’re open in the rain, shine, or snow, come twice a week to double your fun and bargaining opportunities. When you dress warmly and wear the right shoes or boots, you’ll stay warm and cozy.

We hope you’re excited to join us year-round, but here are a few tips for winter shopping apparel:

  • Wear mittens with fingers instead of one piece that covers your fingers. They’ll make it easier to grab all those bargains.
  • If it’s snowing, or supposed to, wear boots to avoid getting cold feet over your next purchase.
  • Layers are ideal. Bring a heavy jacket in case the temperatures plunge but consider less bulky clothing underneath. That way, you can shed layers as needed.
  • A comfortable sweater can make your shopping day more fun than a coarse, scratchy one.

As a bonus, you might find these items for sale at one of the booths. If you forget a crucial garment, such as a scarf, shop around to see if any of the vendors sell them.

Bring a Wagon

There are a few “tools” that can make your shopping easier. Consider a collapsible wagon to hold your purchases. To reduce your carbon footprint, bring your own reusable shopping bags to hold your clothing, jewelry, or other spoils of the day. Plus, you can always use the wagon to cart around your heavy jacket if you get hot.

Parking is the last thing you want to worry about on a cold, wintry afternoon. So, come early and park close for a quicker exit when you’re tired at the end of the day.

Cowtown Farmers Market has several vendors offering hot food to fuel your shopping excursion. Contact us with any questions you have before you bundle up and enjoy a day at the market.

If you’re a vendor, we’d love to hear from you to get you registered and signed up.
